Glenn Richardson received a B.S. degree in Zoology from Southern Utah University, an M.S. degree in Exercise Physiology from Utah State University, and a Ph.D. in Health Science from the University of Utah. He is a full professor, former chair, and the current Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Health Promotion and Education, University of Utah.

Glenn began the resiliency movement with the introduction of "The Resiliency Model" in 1989. In 2002 he introduced resilience as the driving force to thrive through adversity and challenge which was published in the Journal of Clinical Psychology entitled the
"Metatheory of Resilience and Resiliency". He is also a resilience and resiliency consultant and author of eleven books on health and resiliency.

Research interests include: Creativity in health promotion teaching and communicating, Resiliency as a process that disrupts people out of adopted states of biopsychospiritual homeostasis which potentially prepares and readies them through states of humilty to experience infusions of desired virtues and qualities. Resilience as "an innate force that progressively drives and guides people to increase their capacities by receiving infusions of desired qualities and virtues".
